Quality Commercial Cleaning Practices to Sanitise School Restrooms

Secreting body wastes and fluids are certainly unpredictable. Toilet rooms or restrooms are one of the busiest places in every schools. Restrooms are public rooms in any building which are equipped with toilet bowls, urinals, and wash bowls where people expel body fluids or wastes. Students will at some point go to the restroom and urinate or wash a certain part of their body. Since most people use restrooms at any unscheduled time of the day, these areas are prone to different germs and bacteria from human waste. As a result, restrooms are commonly associated with unpleasant odours. Standard commercial cleaning procedures for restrooms are recommended to target dirty and smelly spots.

Schools conduct various activities in the campus. Schools with a large population normally have big public restrooms. School cleaners need to constantly monitor and maintain cleanliness on restrooms. Quality commercial cleaning service jobs should be practised when cleaning restrooms. Bacteria lurk on different areas particularly on toilet bowls, urinals, sinks, and floors. Poor cleaning methods foster the spread of bacteria on the air and in toilet equipment. Stinking restrooms will not only cause certain illnesses, but students and school staffs will be discouraged to use restrooms. These factors causes discomfort and dissatisfaction to both students and staffs.

Unpleasant smelling restrooms are result of insufficient cleaning procedures, poor ventilation, defective toilet bowls, broken sink faucets, clogged toilet and wash bowls, dirty floors, and blocked drainage systems. School custodians need to be trained of the proper commercial cleaning methods when keeping these areas clean. Check lists help custodians to schedule the tasks and pinpoint the major cleaning areas. Custodians should inspect toilet bowls and urinals if these properly flush urine and wastes. These should be washed and disinfected everyday. Same methods apply when cleaning sinks. Some schools may not put toilet papers on each cubicles, but liquid hand soap should always be present on the dispensers. Washing hands avoids spread of germs. School cleaners should also wipe restroom essentials such as mirrors and cubicle walls and doors. Garbage bins must be emptied, and floors should be mopped everyday. Custodians should also wear proper school cleaning attire and gears when maintaining restrooms. These protect cleaners from contacting germs and harsh chemical detergents.

School custodians should also schedule a weekly or monthly deep-cleaning procedure with restrooms. This practice ensures that drainage systems are unclogged. Custodian will have the opportunity to inspect mould and bacterial growth on walls and ceilings. This method also allows cleaners to check and clean air vents and pipe systems in the restrooms. Students must also share responsibility on keeping a restroom clean and not rely on the commercial cleaning service staffs. Since they are the primary users of the restrooms, students must learn to flush after using the toilet or urinals. They should also properly dispose their used paper tissues and avoid liquid mess on the floor and sinks.

Having a clean and well-maintained restroom in any school is as important as having a clean classroom. Clean school facilities foster positive learning atmosphere to students and staffs. Clean restrooms reflect on how a school nurtures their students and protects them from possible sicknesses.
